Would you say that the paragraph would be a good example of an EPOSITORY piece of writing.
Give reasons for your answer.
In fact it is an example of expository writing.
Now students, I want you to tell me why you think a PROMPT would be useful to a writer.
I want you to pick a prompt from my basket and discuss what is asked of you.
Which prompt is requiring you to write an expository piece?
What are the key terms in the prompt that relate to how you should respond to the prompt?

I want you to watch the video clip below that shows Jamaica as it became an independent nation. Listen to the events as they happened so you can use the idea to do the activity that follow in the evaluation.
EVALUATE
1. Describe the series of events that took place on August 6, 1962 when Jamaica celebrated its independence.
2. Explain to your friend, Karl, how indentured servants were treated once they got to the port of entry until they reached the plantations.
3. Susan loves to cook, however, she is uncertain as to how to prepare our national dish, Ackee and Saltfish. Give her instructions how it is to be done.
